Turin Horse

A movie about life. Necessarily sad. Is it about people who take courageously, without complaints, their oppressive fate? Getting day to day worse. Or is it about a horse who doesn't want to take beatings anymore?
Nobody left the movie house yesterday, when I was watching.  Fascinated. Hoping for some explanation. Should have left myself. Be on the side of those who had enough.....

Gas Prices

People pay for gas everyday. This is the easiest issue to bring in a political debate. You can always blame the other side. Definitely a sitting president.  WSJ presses on the gas with a dumb foot.  Why not blame traders?  Does the WSJ think the size of unexplored US reserves matter in the oil bathtub? Do they really think political measures can change supply and demand? GAS!

Wall Street occupied

Looks like Wall Street has been disneyfied, or maybe Occupy Wall Street has been disneyfied. Something needs to be done. Rents on Wall Street are lowest in the city.

Retractable

Got myself two retractable pens. Not one. Two. Cheapest they had but still nice. Was wondering when do I use a pen anymore? Who uses pens. Like watches, becoming just an item of fashion. For the boom generation.  Next day though I used the pen for my cross word puzzle.  Like culture,  just a tool for crossword solutions.
Yes,  I am using a pen, not a pencil, when solving crosswords.

Fedora generation

Was wearing a fedora. My wife thinks men look good in fedoras. Went to buy wine where I usually do -67 Wines. On Fridays they always have wine tastings and I enjoy free schnapps. They were pushing some California wine upstairs and they did not care to offer a glass. At the stand downstairs, I actually started a conversation about the Loire Sauvignon franc? wine they were displaying for tasting. They did not even suggest, but one of the salesgirls noticed my French accent and told the other she should talk French with me. Tell me it was not my Friday night fedora....

Whitney Houston

The memorial is still going on. Watching on and off. So many  famous and talented people. Songs and gospel and priests. All let her go. Nobody could stop the addiction.  A fifty year old woman drowned in her tub....a beautiful and talented ...

Password, misspelled

Was in the process of retrieving my password on Paypal. The question was What is your favorite TV show? Do I have a favorite show? What was my favorite show three years ago when I prepared the safety answer? No show.  Daily Show?  Don't think I was watching it when I was using eBay and PayPal.
Luckily there was another question about my pet. And this I remembered. Whishbone. Poor dog, he never knew it was a misspell.

Obama's Spotify

Got intrigued by an article on Obama's Spotify's list. Did not know what it was. So yesterday I discovered Spotify and have been enjoying since. Oh! to find out about internet gimmicks from the President!  Am really out of touch. And who was the first on my list? Celentano with L'Arcobaleno. Followed by, just to confirm my age, Leonard Cohen who is my man.  ( Discovered I'm your man just weeks ago). My list is short and could in fact buy these songs. Wonder if the president pays for his subscription or uses the free version.

Nuclear power permitted

Moving towards sanity. Away from the shamans of global warming.There might be destruction along the way, but give science and technology a break.  Nuclear energy proved itself, even in Japan.

Italy for fake America. Clint, the great spaghetti western star, in an ad for the Fiat subsidiary, Chrysler, talks about American resilience. And then there was Madonna. At 53.

spring?

Arab Spring. Definitely got rid of old scum but the melting snow is not bringing democracy. Despotic nationalism was replaced by religious intransigence. Is this the time to ask who let these dogs out? Whose spring is it?

Back to reality

After seven days without internet, just off the ship from a sailing vacation stopped at Pussers'. Two large tv's. On FOX a news alert that Congress was working to stop use of welfare money at casinos. On CNN the news alert was - US pets are overweight.
