MeMe and genius

Just published my cl..AI..rvoyant piece, when NY Times had this  on AI and Genius. I wonder whether the free will should get into the discussion.  The Romantics tied genius to pain and AI cannot feel pain.  But then there is also the expression "misunderstood genius".

Cl AI voyant,

In early 80s, forty years ago noted. The difference between humans and computers is that commuters never worry (about themselves). Still true now, despite all the AI.

Statues waiting to be demolished

Should we demolish this statue? Or maybe that of Columbus?

In our third day in America we got a ride to New York City from Maryland. My mother started to cry when she saw the Statue of Liberty. I did not understand.

From Gemini:

The word "statue" comes from the Old French word "statue", which in turn comes from the Latin word "statua". This Latin word is derived from the verb "statuere", meaning "to set up or erect".

Interestingly, the Latin word "status" (meaning "position, place, rank, state, condition") also shares this same origin. So, in a way, a statue is something that has been "set up" in a particular place.
