Lofty ideals

 This election pitches the democrats that bet on lofty ideals, against Trump encouraging  rage and fear of change. I am with the dems, but wonder when did lofty ideals get sufficient  votes. So the democrats want to resurrect the ideas  the city on the hill, while their left wing decries ( in secret, for now)  any positive values in the US   history.  Trump is relating and tries to sell a recent past that his voters see disappearing. We will soon see whether the voters want McDonald burgers or salads.
