We were at a party, a bunch of westsiders watching the New Year show on TV. All kinds of intellectuals from the Hudson Valley. Who is this one? Who is Jenny McCarthy? Who are the Khardashians? I actually read the NY Post every day at lunch but could not recognize any or give convincing explanations. A woman commented: Dick Clark? Isn't he embarrassed to still show up? But he was the only one we actually knew and recognized.
