Harvard irony

 The Trump fight with Harvard brings up ironic reversals of positions. 

Harvard blocked or marginalized conservative views, but now it wants protection under the liberty of speech. Harvard promoted inclusion, but not of conservative views. Harvard promoted the protection of every minority, of any person who claimed their feelings were under attack, but not of Jewish people. Harvard promoted the idea that inclusion is superior to merit.

 And now there is a government lacking merit, punishing a glorious university on fake pretexts. Yes, all the discussion about antisemitism on campus is a fake pretext, a red herring. A government promoting fake truths is destroying scientific research. 

It remains an institution infatuated with its glory. Ok, use moral criticism. But never forget to self criticize. Not of your historic past, but of your present teachings.

Yes, Harvard forgot to promote science and objective research. And its name should be associated with these...

Of course I support the university standing up to government diktats. But wonder if in winning, the university will forget it has been on a mediocre path.
