Dropping Latin names

In a recent interview Jerry Seinfeld, the master of about nothing humor, mentioned he was reading Marc Aurelius.  Am I less cultured than Seinfeld? Yes, I drop bigger names, Cleaning my desk found this book I've recently bought from a French bookstore. It was the cheapest and slightest. Ciceron, Savoir vieillir.   So I read (or at least buy) Cicero in French.  Cato maior. De Senectute. (note  Cato, another famous name dropped).
At senex ne quod speret quidem habet. At est eo meliore condicione quam adulescens, quoniam id quod ille sperat hic consecutus est: ille volt diu vivere, hic diu vixit.  (this is Latin, imbecile)
Le vieillard , lui, n'aurait plus rien a esperer.  Already lived.
But what about Vergil's Una salus victis nullam sperare salutem” .
Old, but still remember my classic lines. But I don't know if I am repeating myself, if I am now working on my stand-up act or my blog.
