I had this intern, a student from Brown, who upon getting her degree, decided to volunteer for Habitat for Humanity. I was disappointed and advised her to first improve her skills in her chosen profession and only then volunteer. On TV today Gingrich said it better: "You need to have a job to be thy brother keeper."
